The Fruits of Fruit Cocktail Visit Bay Street

Photos from the early days of the Fruits, taken at King & Bay, the heart of the Toronto financial district. Not sure exactly when they were taken. Fruit Cocktail was an annual fundraising revue for the Lesbian and Gay Community Appeal in the 1980's (beginning in 1983) -- which description hardly does it justice. Playing to capacity audiences at Ryerson Theater (the particular venue I remember) it was full of wisecracks and wit centered on the Toronto GLBT community. Walking into the theater the feeling, akin to early CHAT days, really was of community, of a world of our own.
