Fourth Annual Gay Conference For Canada And Quebec, Sept.4-6, 1976, Toronto
A few photographs from the march and rally. Also classified as the march and rally of the National Gay Election Coalition, it seems.
It looks like Allan Gardens to me.
Robin Metcalfe
Gary Ostrom on far left in white pants, Merv Walker holding the BP banner on the left, Ed Jackson to the right of him, Kirk Kelly to right of Ed, David Gibson holding the banner on the right.
Charlie Dobie on the left, Alvin Wagner in the middle, Peter Zorzi on the right. Someone gave us this photo, not sure who, so can't credit it. All the other photos were taken by Charlie.
Someone's always upset when we take to the streets.
Harvey Hamburg with the big grin. Joey Shulman, next right holding the banner. To the back and right under the Proud To Be Gay banner is Bruce Eakin in the dark clothes and glasses. Ian Turner seems to be holding that banner to the left. Looks like Brian second to the right of Bruce.
Entering Nathan Phillips Square at City Hall
Wally Brazy, aka Sparkle Plenty (or just Sparkles, if you were being informal), with the Dove of Peace/Pigeon Of Happiness on his head, Belle in the wheelchair. Lloyd Nicholson (Wally's lover at the time) pushing the chair. Belle was probably 90 years old at this point. She was a friend of Wally's, a widow intent on enjoying her last years. Wally had been bringing her to marches since the earliest of days.

Don't know where I got the flag, maybe John Kozachenko dropped it! That's Ross Higgins behind me and a head taller.
Tom Warner addresses the multitudes.
Mark Whitehead of Gay Youth Toronto in front, John Sullivan of CHAT behind.
On the far left peeking over heads that looks to be Bob Cook from Vancouver, in front of him looking to the left is Ed Jackson, in the dark checkered shirt Hoddy Allen, Ralph Lesser next right, followed by Stephen.
Gary Kinsman to the left of Ralph and Stephen.
